“THE BEACHES OF NORMANDY”
Lyrics by: Bud Monaco
Music by: Joe Jammer

The Beaches of Normandy
The Beaches of Normandy (Band Of Brothers)
The Beaches of Normandy (Citizen Soldiers)

After many years of war between the Allies and the Reich
Roosevelt and Churchill knew there’d be no peace without a fight
The Allies powered up their combined military complex might
Drew up Operation Overlord and handed the ball off to Ike

On a cold and rainy night in that early English June
The decision of one great man would bring the Nazi’s doom
Such a waste of young men’s life the Generals would surely know
That fateful evening when General Eisenhower said; “OK, We’ll Go”!!!!!!

Across the English Channel to The Beaches Of Normandy
They fought and bled and died so Europe would be Free
Across the English Channel to The Beaches Of Normandy
They fought and bled and died so Europe would be Free
Let’s all remember------The Beaches Of Normandy

US 1st Infantry Division; US 2nd Infantry Division; US 4th Infantry Division;

The Allies invaded Utah, Omaha, Gold, Sword and Juno beach
2nd US Rangers took Point du Hoc nothing Allies couldn’t reach
Young soldiers learned quickly about war that no training could teach
Against Rommel’s Fortress Europe they were thrown into, into the breach

They bravely fought their way off of the Normandy coast
Into Bocage country St. Mere-Eglise and St. Lo
Fighting into Bayeaux and finally capturing Caen
With freedom in their hearts they fought into Paris and to the Rhine

The Beaches Of Normandy; The Beaches Of Normandy; The Beaches Of Normandy

British soldiers fighting for freedom on The Beaches Of Normandy
Canadiens fighting for freedom on The Beaches Of Normandy
French soldiers fighting for freedom on The Beaches Of Normandy
Americans fighting for freedom on The Beaches Of Normandy
