SOLDIERS OF THE FIGHTING 36th
Lyrics

Soldiers of the Fighting 36th
Soldiers of the Fighting 36th
Soldiers of the Fighting 36th

Many a good man died between Naples and the Rhine
Africa to Germany they fought time after time
Surviving Operation Avalanche they battled into San Pietro
Many died those days in Death Valley and at the battle of the Rapido

Their dying kept on at Cassino and Anzio
Kesselring’s Gustav Line and the 14th Panzer Corps
T-Patchers taking hits from Mausers and German 88's
Nettuno Cemetery was to be most of their fates

Let’s all remember the Soldiers of the 36th
We won’t forget the ones that have not come home
Let’s all remember the Soldiers of the 36th
We’ll let them know that they are not alone
Let’s all remember--- T-Patchers of the 36th

141st Regiment; 142nd Regiment; 143rd Regiment; 45th Division Thunderbirds;
HHB Field Artillery; 36th Signal Company; 111th Combat Engineers;
442nd Regimental Combat Team;

On the road to Rome through Liri Valley, Velletri and the Alban Hills
Orbetello, Albegna, firing weapons, for many a Nazi kill
Into Southern France up the Rhone River Valley
Fighting Fierce, Montelimar, Vesoul, Lyon many were buried at Epinal Cemetery

T-Patchers charged across the Moselle River at Remiremont
Into the Rhineland through the Vosges, with a very high body count
Battling bravely through the Colmar Pocket ‘till they crossed the Bloody Rhine
T-Patchers left a legacy of war that we’ll remember ‘till the end of time
(Repeat Chorus)

Soldiers of the Fighting 36th
Soldiers of the Fighting 36th
Soldiers of the Fighting 36th

They fought and died for freedom with honor and dignity
They fought and died for freedom with honor and dignity
Americans fighting for freedom with honor and dignity
Americans fighting for freedom with honor and dignity
