Dude, crank it up? Visionary's debut CD, Power To Spare, rocks hard through its thirteen tracks, with only a few lulls to slow the pace.

Chicago based Visionary was formed in 1995 by drummer/songwriter James Olan, guitarist Mike Satarino and vocalist/frontman Ron Platt. Platt adeptly delivers the vocals with his versatile five-octave range, with backing vocals from the band other three members. Drummer James Olan scored his first major gig at the tender age of 16 when he played with Mike Pinera on the Iron Butterfly's 1987 reunion tour. It's many years later now, so it's no surprise that his chops are evident on this disc, to which he also adds acoustic and classical guitar tracks.

Guitarist Mike Satarino and bassist Dave Clettenberg ably complete Visionary's classic arena rock sound. Four of the album's tracks also feature Michael Berry on keys and Scott Reich on bass. One of those tracks, 'Hard Lovin' is my pick for best on the disc. If you're a guy with long hair, and/or you're still listening to Van Halen, Journey, Rush or Styx, you'll probably enjoy Visionary, too.
